European Programmes

Our centre has a great trajectory and high participation numbers in European Exchange Programmes.

In the previous Exchange Programme call, several of our female student laureates had the opportunity of taking part in the Leonardo Da Vinci Mobility Programmes, Apprenticeships, and three Comenius Programmes with educational associations.

We are currently part of the Erasmus+ Programme and have presented a KA1 mobility exchange with another vocational training centre located in Sofía (Bulgary) as well as a KA2 multilateral mobility exchange, with our partners in Italy, France, Lithuania, Estonia, and Turkey under the name “Numbers become Art”. IT02‐KA201‐003537_3 – Erasmus+ Calls 2014.

Similarly, Zalima possesses the ERASMUS Mandate Letter.

    Zalima Vocational Training and Baccalaureate School has more than 300 students among all the studies it offers. Besides the semi-private VET courses of Administration and Finance and Secretarial Studies, our school offers some private VET courses such as the Advanced Vocational Training Program in Early Childhood education, since 2011, Sociocultural and Community Services and Dietetics and Nutrition, since 2013.

     

    Due to the centre main purpose of showing the students a European dimension for education, it was created an institutional framework called European Programmes Commission, integrated by the School Principal, the Vice Principal of Baccalaureate, the Vice Principal of Vocational Training, the Languages Department Coordinators and the Responsible for International Relations.

     

    The main functions of this Commission include:

    1. Improve the quality of the mobility projects.

    2. Encourage the relationship ability by creating an internationalization strategy of the centre.

    3. Promote the knowledge and spreading of the European Higher Education Area.

    4. Let the students know about the actions taken by the Erasmus + Program.

    Furthermore, the European Programmes Commission together with the responsible teacher for the Vocational Training Courses are monitoring the learning process of the students abroad.

    Zalima School has agreements for internships with the following partners:

    - Advanced VET program in Dietetics and Nutrition: Niederrhein Applied University.

    - Advanced VET program in Early Childhood Education: Kids Garden schools in Sweden, Netherlands and Portugal.

    - Advanced VET program in Administration and Finance: New College Durhan.

    - Advanced VET program in Secretarial Studies: Lycée des Métiers Toulouse-Lautrec.

     

     

    In addition, the centre actively works in the expansion and consolidation of the agreements with European companies and institutions that make easier the students and teachers’ mobility. To obtain these results, the European Programmes Commission has weekly meetings to settle specific searching objectives. These contacts have been found through different tools:

     

    - A database with the contact information of all the centres we are meeting through mobility projects.

    - eTwinning platform.

    - Information provided by the Teacher Centre of Cordoba and by the High Schools of the city.

  • Partners choice and selection criteria

    The selected partners are companies from the professional field related to the education area such as hotels, school receptions, lawyers’ offices, early childhood centres, public health laboratories, NGOs and non-profit organizations.

     

    Zalima intends to share with partners the modernisation and quality objectives derived from mobility projects. Besides, the centre guarantees this participation with a common target which consists in joining the training and the internship to reach the expectations in the mobility of teachers and students.

     

  • Geographic areas

    The geographic areas of our partners are essentially the EU countries with which we have already worked: Germany, France, Italy, United Kingdom, Ireland and Czech Republic. Furthermore, inside the learning program we are expanding the projects to others countries such as France, Italy, Hungary, Lithuania and Portugal.

  • Objetives

     

    Having the ECHE (Erasmus Charter for Higher Education) we want to give students the opportunity to receive training in other countries, as well as carry out their internships in foreign companies to complete their studies.

     

    Our objectives are focused on:

     

    1. Increase the number of students who go to the EU looking for the benefits for students, teachers and collaborative partners and promote the professional updating.

     

    2. Strengthen the practical aspect in Vocational Training Education through the internship period in specific companies selected according to the aforementioned criteria in the Partners Choice section.

     

    3. Seek for the updating of Vocational Training by using the new technologies.

     

    4. Work in the development of mobility projects with the following quality criteria:

     

    - Number of activities

    - Number of participants

    - Number of appearances in the media

    - Margin 0 of deviation between the approved budget and the budget used for the economic funding.

     

    5. Innovating in the evaluation process by including a marking percentage in the use of languages and technologies inside the teacher programmes.

     

    6. Creating an internationalization strategy of the centre through the alliances with partners and institutions which guarantee the education quality.

     

    7. Recognising the professional competences acquired during the internship period by the delivery of certificates by the companies.

     

  • International Strategy

     

    Our centre is working on projects for students’ internships and teachers training in companies through the ECHE (Erasmus Charter for Higher Education).

     

    Firstly, what we are doing is informing about the measures to support and promote the mobility to the teaching and non-teaching staff as well as students. To do that, Zalima offers the opportunity to attend Technical Conferences, visualise the information provided in the webpage of the centre (constantly updated) and in other platforms such as Moodle, Dropbox or Showbie. These platforms are also connectors to get feedback between the teacher responsible for the internship and the student, and at the same time it serves to evaluate tasks inside the teaching-learning process.

     

    Once we have done the first steps, students are given a period to think about this possibility and after that the European Programmes Commission can estimate the number of mobilities for the next year. It is estimated the number of applications, having as a main target that the difference between the applying mobilities and the ones done the previous year is zero. In the case of having more students than mobilities, they are selected according to the pre-arranged objective criteria.

     

    With the purpose of increasing the number of applications and encouraging our students, Zalima provides a linguistic training course in which language is improved and it is showed the main aspects of destination countries (habits, gastronomy, tourism…) highlighting the development of speaking skills. The intended level is a B2 in each skill: reading, listening, writing and speaking. On the other hand, students have the chance of doing another minimum two-week linguistic course in the destination country before they start with the internship.

     

    Selected process completed, our students will have a tutor responsible for their training during the period abroad. This person will be available at any time to deal with any either professional or personal incidence. Before beginning the internship period, students are given a contact number and mail from the tutor. As a result, students feel safer and they can solve any trouble before going abroad. Besides, the centre keeps checking via Moodle and mail during the stay.

     

    Finally, there are several requirements to meet after finishing the stay with the aim of getting the related recognition. Students must hand over a document called ‘internship report’ which includes the following points:

     

    1. Company characteristics: field, location, organization chart and services.

    2. Job organization.

    3. Tasks description.

    4. Weekly report signed by the designated instructor.

    5. Report signed by the internship tutor.

    6. Satisfaction surveys from the internship tutor, the student, and the responsible tutor in our school.

     

    In addition, receiving companies must fill in a personalized form assessing the attendance and the learning carried out by students.

     

  • Impact on the participation (5 priorities of the Modernisation Agenda)

     

    The impact derived from the participation in the different mobilities can be measured in these 5 priorities of modernisation:

     

    1. Getting a high level in transversal competences from both teachers and students by encouraging the entrepreneur spirit so that it can be helpful to face new professional challenges.  As well as developing the skills to innovate in their working field taking into account the vital role of the new ICTs in a progressively globalized world.

     

    2. Preparing students for the job market in both local and international levels, stablishing effective bonds among education, investigation and the enterprise sector with the aim of getting a high level of professional mark. Additionally, it is our purpose to provide with qualified technicians who solve the needs of the European Union.

     

    3. Raising awareness about the opening to Europe related to the field of Higher Education.

     

    4. Encouraging the coexistence and appreciating the multicultural enrichment derived from mobility projects among partners, presented with quality indicators and so that the efficiency in the actions management and funding.

     

    5. Transmitting the coexistence of sharing knowledge and culture related to benchmarking.
